Investment expertise.
Financial planning experience.
Commercial understanding.

My career has combined investment management with financial planning, business development and board-level responsibility. I understand the practical demands of running a financial services firm, supporting advisers and maintaining long-term client relationships.

At VWM Wealth, I launched and developed the discretionary investment proposition, alongside work with high-net-worth clients and their advisers. Earlier, as Investment Services Director at John Scott & Partners, including Aitchison & Colegrave, I built an investment specialist team and developed discretionary investment services.

My background also includes global custody and trustee services at Clydesdale Bank. That breadth of experience informs a collegiate approach: sharing expertise, asking useful questions and helping teams reach decisions they can explain.

Professional recognition includes the PFS Investment Advice Specialist award in 2016. I hold an MBA from Strathclyde Graduate Business School and Chartered Fellow qualifications in securities and banking, alongside Chartered Financial Planner status.

Working together

Start with the
decision you face.

Whether you need a second opinion, support with a transition or regular investment input, the first step is to establish what would make a useful difference to your business.

A defined project

A focused assignment with an agreed brief, timetable and output. Examples include reviewing an investment proposition, strengthening committee documentation or preparing adviser communications.

Continuing consultancy

Regular support agreed around your business needs: committee attendance, periodic investment reviews, commentary or access to an experienced sounding board. The scope and responsibilities are established at the outset.

Mentoring and knowledge transfer

Structured conversations and practical support for advisers, investment specialists or directors taking on greater responsibility. The aim is to build confidence, understanding and a sustainable capability within your team.

Clear responsibilities

We agree the purpose of the work, the deliverables and the respective responsibilities before an engagement starts. Consultancy support is provided to the firm; regulated client advice and portfolio decisions remain within the firm’s own authorised arrangements.
